The five elements are the basis of all manifestations in the material-physical worlds. They emanate from colours, or rather from the original luminosity that manifests itself in five colours. This luminosity emanates from emptiness. The primordial consciousness, coming from the source itself, of which we are all a part, gives an impulse which, springing from the void, manifests itself in 5 colours. Through their interactions, these luminosities form atoms, which form molecules, which, over millions of millennia, end up forming suns, planets and life as we know it. But all this then returns to the void, to formlessness, to emptiness. It is both simple and complicated to explain this, but there is nothing that can really train consciousness in a true understanding of this reality other than direct experience. For this, many decades and sometimes lifetimes of meditation with authentic masters are necessary. With this understanding comes, with a great deal of intense spiritual practice, the true mastery of life which knows no death. Hence the well-known expression in all the Tibetan philosophies of the five schools, that everything is empty. This is also part of Indigenous spiritual philosophy, but it is more lived, experienced, than explained. For example, many very important ceremonies with effects that science cannot explain are performed in a place where all light is excluded, in complete darkness. There are whole pages of examples to be told on this subject.
Coming back to the elements, all the world’s great spiritual philosophies explain the nature of the interactions within the worlds and within our own bodies in terms of the interactions between the five elements. The five colours give rise to a lower frequency, which is the five sounds. This is why pentatonic music (using a five-tone scale on the model of do re mi sol la rather than seven tones, as in the western scale do re mi fa sol la si) has a harmonizing influence on health. These five sounds harmonize together in a way that complements each other. They form spirals of energy in harmony with the very nature of the body, helping to balance the energies on which our organs depend. This is easy to experience. With a piano or an electronic piano keyboard, played as it comes to you with only the black keys of the keyboard, which are pentatonic in the key of F#. You’ll see that, whatever you play, it’s always beautiful. All my music, in the 8 albums you’ll find at the top of the page, was built on these pentatonic keys. (To get them, I’m on bandcamp.com) One of the factors that structures our Sacred Essences and Liquid Smudge, giving them an effectiveness without parallel in the world of aromatherapy, is my music playing 24/7 in the room where they are maturing. As I perform my encoding rituals with these fragrances in this room, I’ve always noticed the inspiring, calming and balancing effect they have. Whatever may have preceded this moment of spiritual work, pentatonic music always enables me to do it well.
Thus, these tools I’ve created can complement each other. I know therapists from all fields of healing- Aboriginal, Ayurvedic, Chinese, Japanese, massage therapy, acupuncture, naturopathy, animal care, etc. – who use them. They are best used together, as they amplify their beneficial effects through harmonic resonance. These are beautiful tools, in harmony with the very structure of our universe, for your health and well-being.
Peace, Joy, Light and Love to you all.
