In many teachings and traditions of the far east, Tibet, China, India, and probably many others, there is the story of the wish-fulfilling jewel. This gem brings to the person who has it more riches than 100,000 planets covered with gold and precious stones.
A more intensive and deep study of the pristine teachings of Yoga and Tibetan Buddhism has shown me how to acquire this wish-fulfilling jewel. You can read extensively about this in THE DIAMOND CUTTER by Geshe M. Roach, a book on applying the teachings of the Buddha to the world of business.
It really is very simple and all of us have access to this precious gem. It follows a fundamental law of the universe. To be able to breathe, before we can inhale, we need to exhale. When we give, we receive. When we give to others, when we help other people, when we take care of life in its infinite forms, then it comes back to us multiplied by a hundred, a thousand, a million times. It all depends on the time these seeds take to ripen. Yes, the traditions call them world seeds. This is coherent with our Native Indigenous teachings as well. We are creators of worlds. All that we see and experience are the results of the seeds we have planted in our thousands of lives in this and sometimes other worlds. Every thought, word and action is recorded in our soul, in the spirit atom, that is smaller than the tiniest of atomic particles. This spirit-soul-atom resides in our heart. It has trillions upon trillions of seeds that we have acquired in our eternal lives through our thoughts, words and deeds. The time they take to ripen in this or future lives determines how much they will multiply. In any case a lot more than any financial investment you could possibly imagine.
Of course, the contrary is also true. All harm, anger, jealously, hate, and the like, in our thoughts, words and deeds will also multiply in that mysterious soul-spirit-atom that creates everything around us.
This is why the ancient traditions speak of emptiness. All is empty. Nothing is like it seems. We cannot attribute a real existence to anything, as everything is dependent on how our minds perceive the results of our world seeds. The Great Mistake is attributing to exterior things and circumstances a predetermined reality. In fact, everything is a product of our minds. Nothing is really there other than what we have fabricated through the planting of the seeds of our thoughts, words and actions.
The incredible real and efficient teaching is how to work with this wish-fulfilling jewel! If we truly understand how to create what we wish for, we can have everything we want! It is just a question of knowing how to create seeds that will blossom into what we want. Ultimately into an eternal life that is free from want, from sickness, from old age and from death. All that we aspire to, eternal and beauteous happiness is right there, ripe for the picking: if we plant the right seeds and water them.
More next weekend on this subject.
