An article on the importance of crystals in Indigenous culture and health.
Crystals reveal perfection in their form. The definition of a crystal in my teaching is a molecularly geometrically structured mineral that reveals its molecular structure to the naked eye. Meaning, we can see the shape that these molecules adopt internally, by the angles and facets of a stone. The most frequent crystals in our northern countries are SNOW! Take a magnifying glass and look at some snow flakes and you will see that they are all hexagonal. Their very beautiful geometrical hexagonal shapes are all different. The number of snow flakes in a snow fall is incalculable. Yet, they are all different, as all human beings are unique.
This reveals some basic truths about the nature of reality. Unity in diversity. Order and intelligence in all things. Forms are in harmony and beauty in all natural manifestations. This reveals the intelligence that underlies all of creation. The order of all things. And, if we put this in an Indigenous perspective, Divine Order. The hand of Great Spirit in the manifestation of all things in nature. The Beauty Way of All Our Relations.
Humans are endowed with free will. Meaning that they have a choice to follow the beauty way, the way of truth, light, harmony, love, peace and joy, or the other way, that of darkness, selfishness, greed, jealousy and all the other negative emotions. We all carry both within. The light and the dark. What prevails is what we choose to nourish. When we nourish the light, we have purpose, strength, beauty, clarity and a clear path for our lives. When we feed the dark, we end up with ugliness, disease, isolation, difficult circumstances, chaos, and so on and so forth.
Thus, the way back to health in a person suffering from dis-ease, is by walking the path of beauty and purpose. The way of truth and harmony. Crystals reveal that by their very being. Thus, they show the way.
There is, of course, a lot more to that than just looking at them, but this illustrates a basic fundamental aspect of why crystals are so important to Indigenous culture.
We do need to reference the source of the most advanced indigenous crystal teachings. They emanate from those nations that are Temple Builders. As in the mounds of the Cherokee, the kivas of the Hopi, the pyramids of the Maya. The nations that had permanent structures where they practised their teachings, ceremonies and rituals had a more organized spirituality. Because of this, their knowledge of the importance and impact of crystals is more elaborate and structured. In our times, there is no more territory and the conditions that allowed for our beautiful nomadic lifestyles. We are all sedentary now. Thus, these teachings on crystals for ceremony and healing are now useful for all nations and all people.
At the most basic level, crystals will help by inspiring you to see the truth and the beauty. They will reflect back to you, harmony to have good thoughts and a clearer perspective on things. Thus, put them where you can look at them, on your work bench or desk, on the window sill, etc. If you can purify them, that’s even better. They can even be programmed with specific intentions.
