This is the most important day for Christians all over the world. Like many other religious festivals in the Western world, it has been distorted to become something else. Yet, this solemn celebration is very significant.

THE ULTIMATE REALITY
There is a phrase by a Russian spiritual master, Grigori Grabavoi, that I really like: “There is no objective reality outside of consciousness.”
The same concept is abundantly taught in thousands of ways in the Sutras and Tantras of Tibetan Buddhism. In fact, it is one of the premises of Buddhism, that of shunyata, or emptiness.

If I had to summarize these writings in a single sentence—simply and directly—I would say this: it is the fundamental responsibility of every human being to nurture and maintain a spiritual practice, for without it we are dishonoring this human body.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
Every day when we wake up, we realize that we are alive. This is the greatest gift we have. This is the time to express our gratitude. For having a human body is a unique, privileged opportunity, a true blessing.

Life’s mission, the reason for our existence, why I’m here on earth: this is the most important and primordial question a person can answer. This existential quest lies at the heart of the definition of what it means to be human.

I’m no longer talking about the mistakes, programming, conditioning and formatting that the system has imposed on people over the past millennials. But one result these aberrations of consciousness has created in many people, especially in Western nations, is an innate distrust of spiritual authorities.

The evolution and progression of our souls on the path to liberation and enlightenment is limitless. The true identity of the self, the soul, is immortal and eternal. As such, it has eternity ahead of it to learn, evolve and advance towards ever greater mastery of its capacity to create worlds and support all beings.
THE TURTLE ALTAR — A PRECIOUS SHRINE FOR OUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
It’s easier and more powerful to meditate and pray when you can create sacred space in your home. To follow up on my article on spiritual practice last week, I will offer a time-honored way of creating a spiritual light giving altar in your home. It’s the one practice all my students have implemented in their lives, the one most important teaching they all thank me for. Thus, an excellent transmission to share with you all today.

To be true. To be yourself. Not putting on a mask to meet social conventions and dictates. Being able to escape norms to affirm the truth. Having the courage that gives us people like Julien Assange and his work in Wikileaks, Nelson Mandela and the liberation of the people of South Africa, Jesus Christ and the redemption of his followers.
