It’s my birthday today. I’m well past 70, and I make no secret of it.
My workload is intense. And I’m tired.
I love my work — deeply, sincerely. It’s the stress tied to the challenges I’ve been facing lately that has me wondering whether I can continue… in these conditions.
In all of us, in every being, there is immortality. The essence, that which is, beyond all thought, circumstance and manifestation, what we might call the spirit of every being, is immortal. However, in the physical manifestation of the material world, we are subject to the law of cause and effect. Thus, all the attachments, aversions and indifferences that stir within us have the consequence of bringing us back again and again into a body subject to suffering, old age and death.
In this day and age, when the values and the spiritual, moral and ethical standards of the general population — and especially of the elites in Western and Atlanticist countries — have deteriorated appallingly, it is difficult to gauge how one ought to behave and live a wholesome life.
The spring equinox is a magical moment of perfect balance when day and night share the sky equally. This moment of harmony invites us to align our lives with nature’s great cycle, and to find that precious balance within ourselves. It is a celebration of forgiveness, renewal, rebirth and hope.
Life is always full of challenges, trials, and moments of suffering and sadness. This is the lot of human life as long as we have not understood and mastered the true nature of who we are.
Certain universal principles predispose us to peace.
Peace begins within each one of us. We all have a light side and a dark side, dark thoughts and bright thoughts. It is not a question of rejecting or reacting, but rather of recognising and transforming. By consciously observing the thoughts that arise, we can choose to amplify or transmute them. For every negative thought also has its bright, enlightened, liberated aspect.
These days we are working very hard and, on the weekend, I am of need for rest. I’m finding it difficult to write to you all. I did a little video (below) but I repeated myself.
