PERFUME, MUSIC AND BOOKS FOR AN ENLIGHTENED AND HEALTHY HUMANITY
The world is silent and dark. The night is on the land but a timid light is starting to brighten the eastern sky. The minds of the caretakers of tradition and prophecy awaken. It is time to strengthen the spirit of peace and abundance for the people and the earth. They hurry to the sacred ceremonial grounds and with great care rekindle the sacred fire. As the light of dawn spreads over the land the offerings, songs and prayers spread peace and joy to all beings in all worlds. It is good.
The third element in our tradition is air — and more precisely, wind. What is most significant in this element is the freedom that comes from a true understanding of spirit. The earth element is heavy and sinks, even creating gravity, drawing all physical things downward. Water has the capacity to evaporate, yet always falls back down and in its liquid state always seeks the lowest level. But air is free.
The Water Element
As I sit down to write about the water element, I read what I wrote last week on this subject. What struck me was the sheer magnitude of the subject and the utter inadequacy of words to truly portray what the elements are. Admitting my limitations is important to me at the beginning of this week’s article. Such an important subject should warrant a far better portrayal of their importance. That is why in today’s literature there are several very important books written on water. All I can do here — and it is the objective I set for this series — is to give some hints of how they can be used for healing.
