Today is the vernal equinox. Day will equal night on this day. It’s time to practice equanimity, balance on all levels. One of the rites that forms part of the spring equinox ceremonies in our little community is that of forgiveness.
We call this celebration the renewal of friendships. We go to the blessed and sacred waters to wash away all the difficulties we’ve had with our loved ones and friends, to forgive and receive forgiveness. This is done near a stream, a lake or even with bowls of water filled with water from a natural spring, or even by melting snow that’s still on the ground.
Let me share with you the prayer, which is in fact a song of forgiveness, that we sing next to the blessed and sacred waters during this ceremony.
Blessed and sacred water, I come again to your shores
Blessed and sacred water I enter you
That you may wash away the heavy thoughts that keep me from your sea of equanimity.
O Creator our eyes become clear
The sacred light of wisdom shines in our hearts
May we see, may we be, what we truly are
That all beings may achieve unity and harmony.
Peace, Joy and Love

Hello Luke Blue Eagle,
You need not apologize for sending the Spring Equinox chant in French. It was a delight to hear you sing in your native tongue. It was truly special for this special earth/cosmic holiday.
Thank you Susan !
