A PORCUPINE FABLE

Here is a cute picture of a baby ;hedge hog and a short fable on porcupine.

It was the coldest winter ever seen. Many animals had died because of the cold. The porcupines had solved this situation by regrouping and huddling together to stay warm.  Yet their quills would hurt their close companions, even if they gave each other precious heat. After a while, they decided to take their distance from the others because of the injuries from their quilles and they began to die, alone and frozen. Thus, they had to choose: accept the spines of their companions or disappear from the earth. Wisely, they decided to come back and live together. In this way, they learnt to live with the small wounds caused by the close proximity of their companions, but benefited from their body heat. In this way, they were able to survive.

The best relation is not one that brings together perfect people, but when we all learn to live with our and the other’s imperfections. In this way we can also discover, admire and benefit from their  qualities.
